Gave up on it when they kept insisting the strokes and the white stripes were the greatest bands ever

Haven't bothered with it since it was renamed from the Old Musical Express.

Fair play - their love affair with Kanye West has probably contributed to their loss of sales. It used to be a good paper.

Sven ES just feels irrelevant to normal Londoners now. Good for rich Russians. Oh hold on who owns it.

Agree about that magazine. Must admit I read it for a laugh as it is utterly ludicrous. Unless you are interested in what the average billionaire is up to.

Seen Evening standard is boring especially the magazine. Just always seems to be about posh rich cunts and what they have for breakfast and what they wipe their arse with.

My elder brother bought it from the early 80s and I started late 80s to mid nineties so I read it for a good ten years at least.
The last time I read a copy was a few years ago in a train station, I thought they'd brought look-in back by the state of it.

I think the Evening Standard has improved since it went free but Time Out now appears to be a listings magazine with no listings in it. That one has been overtaken by smart phones and the Internet.
I would guess the only magazines people are still buying are the luxury fashion ones like Vogue. The Daves mucky book empire I am guessing has been destroyed by the internet.

I remember the Charles Shaar Murray / Deke Leonard guide to the service station urinals of the UK.
Quality journalism.
